My granddaughter will be 3 in January and even with paternity results the mother refuses to sign an AOP. My son started a case with the state attorney general's office to get paternity rights but she got a lawyer and if she complies wants back child support. Currently, the case is stalled because my son is in college and although they are all in the US, he's in the US on an F-1 visa with no source of income. He gets to see his daughter when the mother feels it's convenient and only on her terms. We as paternal grandparents have only seen our granddaughter twice in almost three years. It's completely unfair, intimidating, and mean. Thanks for supporting parents who want to be good, involved, parents but are being denied that right over money.
